What is a ICV in Canada?
A unique solution for approaching foreign markets. Through the international corporate volunteering program, Business France offers French companies the opportunity to entrust a young person, aged 18 to 28, with a professional mission abroad for a period of 6 to 24 months. The aim is to boost the international development of French companies, while offering opportunities to young professionals.
The advantages of a ICV in Canada?
- Enables you to start internationalizing your company and enter Canada with a better understanding of the market’s specific features.
- Access talented profiles that meet your specific human resources needs and add value to your company.
- Administrative and contractual management delegated to Business France by the French Ministry of Foreign Trade.
- Gives you control over the volunteer’s operational activities, while relieving you of personnel management tasks.
- A very attractive cost compared to the use of local and expatriate contracts.
- The Canadian market, a gateway to the North American market!
What assignments should a ICV in Canada take on?
Possible missions can be varied, depending on the company’s needs: market research, prospecting, technical support for local teams, sales or communication management, business development, etc… all of which can be adapted to the candidates’ profiles (engineers, IT specialists, sales representatives, technicians, administrative staff, management controllers…).
A international corporate volunteering is an excellent way to position your company in the Canadian market, in a cost-effective and flexible way, while enhancing your value proposition for your customers.
How to hire a ICV in Canada
- 1. Contact with Business France ICV. The organization can provide you with assistance tailored to your project and advise you on the selection of an appropriate host structure. The SALVEO Group, a partner of Business France, is recognized as a reliable host organization.
- 2. Receive an estimate of the costs of your ICV assignment, so that you can better understand and plan your budget.
- 3. If this is your first ICV project, you'll need to prepare an application for approval.
- 4. You can select and recruit the right candidate for the assignment via Business France's E-VIE corporate extranet.
- 5. Completion of the volunteer assignment request. We strongly recommend that this be done no later than 2 months before the departure of the V.I.E., to benefit from a favorable lead time for obtaining the necessary work permits.
- 6. Obtaining the international volunteer's visa: as part of the VIE program in Canada, the candidate must complete various government immigration procedures, including obtaining a work permit. To do this, the VIE must be attached to a recognized local employer. SALVEO Canada, approved by the Canadian government, offers to support you in this process and assumes legal responsibility for your collaborator, by supporting his or her application for a work permit.
- 7. The contract with Business France is signed, and the volunteer flies to Canada to begin his mission in a new territory. We also offer VIE accommodation with access to unique premises and a productive work environment.
