Digital 113 kicks off its new international route!
Digital 113 and its partners, including Salveo, organized an exceptional conference on digital opportunities in Spain on March 7, 2024 at Montpellier’s Halle de l’Innovation. This meeting, led by experts and export players, marked the kick-off of the international route dedicated to Spain.
With its dynamic market, numerous business opportunities and geographical proximity to the Occitanie region, Spain is attractive to many digital and tech companies looking to expand internationally. However, setting up successfully in Spain requires careful thought and preparation.
Expertly led by Angélique Cacheux (France & Export Market Manager – Digital Sector), the international experts deciphered and analyzed Spain’s market potential and risk areas.
Emmanuel Mouton, President of Digital 113 and founder of Synox, spoke of his decision to set up in Valencia: ” We had initially targeted Canada, but we realized that Spain offers just as many opportunities with fewer risks – due to its geographical proximity, almost identical legislation and the same currency. Spain is a good way to test yourself internationally”, he adds.
Sebastian Alvarez, Commercial Director of the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Madrid, underlined the cultural and political differences between the two countries: “Spain is a much more decentralized country than France, with highly autonomous regions. Successful development in Catalonia does not guarantee your development in Madrid – quite the contrary! It’s important to have a regionalapproach and development strategy if you want to conquer the whole of Spain.
Claudia Zimmer, French Foreign Trade Advisor (CCEF) & CEO of Cyme, emphasized the importance of the CCEF network in Spain: “Whether you’re aiming for Seville, Valencia or Bilbao, the CCEFs advise French companies on local regulations, administrative procedures and business networks. They are invaluable sources of information on which to draw if you want to set up successfully.
“There are no miracle solutions for export success. Each company has its own business model and specific characteristics,” concludes Arnaud Leurent, Managing Director at Salveo. “You can go through an agent, a distributor or an integrator. But it’s important to remember that only profitability will guarantee your international success.

The conference ended with an aperitif dinner to continue the discussions. Participants also learned about the next stages of the international route to Spain: a financing workshop in May and a business expedition to Madrid in November.
